HELIO vs. other companies

Scientifically calculated irradiance readings, rather than raw solar meter readings often used in the industry to inflate power figures. Solar meters are calibrated for sunlight, and can report more than double the actual irradiance of a red light panel. Those inflated figures make panels look more powerful in our competitors’ marketing without delivering more light.

Each range shows low–high irradiance across the illuminated area, not an area average.

We choose each wavelength with intention, rather than adding non-effective ones just to lengthen the list (for example blue light (480 nm), amber light (590 nm), 730 nm or 940 nm). We set each wavelength’s proportion according to its biological relevance, rather than its cost.

Why wavelength proportions matter

Replacing the most bio-active and expensive LEDs with cheaper ones cuts production costs without changing the wavelength list. The customer can't tell the difference since most brands, for example MITO LIGHT (Expert 5.0) and ROJO (Refine 900), do not publish per-wavelength LED proportions in their product specifications.

How the shares compare

Each percentage uses all LEDs in the panel as its denominator. The compared group is 670, 810, 830 and 1060 nm. HELIO pro uses 32/60 or 78/150 LEDs in this group. HELIO and i-series use one third at 810 and 830 nm. Flowlight 1500 Seven Waves uses 16 LEDs at 810 nm, 16 at 830 nm and 6 at 1060 nm: 38/300, or 12.7%. Red Light Rising Advantage 900 uses 20 LEDs at 810 nm and 20 at 830 nm: 40/300, or 13.3%. Competitor figures use the published allocations for MitoPRO+, Red Light Rising Advantage 900 and Flowlife.

Purchasing itself was very good. Polite and professional.
The Equipment has arrived meanwhile and I had just a couple of sessions. Physiological changes are not yet detectable, but one couldn't expect that in such a short time anyway. However, I noticed that I am looking forward to the next session each time. So, my subconcious mind seems to like it. Is there something metabolically going on? After all, mood and feelings are biological messages. May be it materialises in a few weeks or month.

Build quality is very solid, industrial. It is a heavy device. Although I cannot say how the electronics will hold over the years, the surprisingly heavy and bulky cooling system gives confidence.
I have been using PBM with a couple small, pure 830nm lamps for years noe and know that it works (don’t expect miracles, but it gives a risk-free betterment of a lot of conditions in tissues up to 3, maybe 5 cm below the skin, if you get the dosage right). Bought this device to help manage my wife’s venal insufficiency in the legs. No experience with multi-wavelength devices yet, but I can set it to NIR only, if I need.
Device is made and packaged in China, without re-opening by the seller, it ships as it was packaged in China. Quality control is good though.
Overall very happy with the purchase. From my research it is the best panel-format device on the EU market.

Initially, I was reluctant as the company was new and usually I buy something with plenty of reviews. After reading Mathias' posts on reddit about the company and why he founded Helio I took the chance as the panel was considerably cheaper than its competitors. I originally bought the Pro panel but it had sold out prior-to my order and was on backorder. Mathias instantly emailed offering the chance to wait for stock or a refund, I opted for the refund and the funds were back with me immediately. I was thoroughly impressed by Mathias support and knowledge as I talked to him about available products which convinced me to purchase the Helio 3. The delivery was impressively quick, and Mathias' attentiveness throughout the process was remarkable. It's rare to find such dedication to customer satisfaction.

The panel itself is exceptional, offering incredible value compared to its competitors. The build quality is amazing, clearly reflecting the thought and care put into their products. I'm lucky in that I am healthy so I wasn't looking for a panel for a specific issue but after only 3 uses of 20 minutes per day I noticed the skin on my arms and torso becoming incredibly smooth which was something I never felt before. It has done a lot for my face, I usually get spots and have found it impossible to keep my face consistently clear from breakouts for 20 years but since starting my routine of 20 minutes per day I have not had a single breakout which, for me, is the cost on its own.

If I ever need to upgrade or buy another panel, I'll definitely be returning to this company. Highly recommend for anyone looking into red light therapy, especially if you value knowledgeable and supportive service 6 stars out of 5 :)
